I have been in the veterinary field for 20 years. In 2012 I was working at a 24 hour ER and Specialty Center. The board certified surgeon did hemilaminectomies, back surgery, I would run anesthesia, recover them post op, give meds, do a little physical therapy, and then send them home. I never got to see if they ever walked again. I found the amazing world of rehabilitation. In 2015 I attended the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner program at the University of Tennessee. December of 2015 I took the hardest test of my life, passed, and became the CCRP you see today.
Most of my career was in emergency medicine. I saw the worst of the worst. I cried with many families and their pets. Sometimes tears of joy, sometimes tears of sorrow. Rehabilitation gave me the bright light of veterinary medicine. I get to help my patients feel better and have a better quality of life with their families.
Physical therapy for animals is growing. Currently there are only a few locations in Washington. We're here to help support our surrounding communities to help as many pets as we can.
